Belgian’s own megastar Stromae filled a formidable two hour show at the HMH in Amsterdam on April 2nd. A show in which he mesmerized the audience of every age with both theatre, dance and his captivating voice. The rip-roaring skinny Stromae took the stage accompanied by his four piece band all wearing knee socks and bowler hats. Being one of the most in demand artists right now, many wondered if he would take it to the limit. What the Belgian maestro showed was nothing more than a fantastic performance full of showmanship.

We all know the story of Beady Eye. In 2009, the never-ending fight between brothers Noel and Liam Gallagher was at its boiling point, and so Oasis, one of the most influential britpop bands of the nineties, split right before their Rock en Seine performance in France. Both brothers went different ways; Noel started his own band under the name ‘Noel Gallagher’s High Flying Birds’, while Liam formed ‘Beady Eye’ together with all other former Oasis bandmates. Since this year, former Kasabian-guitarist Jay Mehler has joined the band on bass to form a 6-piece live band. Jimmy Alter went to the Paradiso to see where Beady Eye stands now!
